AITL Info Blog - Startup and Purpose

I'm starting this blog as a way to track and gather online information about angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma (AITL).  Since this disease is so rare, there doesn't seem to be any one good place to find out much about it.  I'll post documentation or links to articles, forums, and any other resources I find.

It would also be great if we can have a patient-to-patient (or caregiver-to-caregiver) support network online, specific to those fighting AITL.  Please contact me if you are an AITL patient or caregiver, thanks!

In addition, it would also help doctors fight our disease if they had access to many patients' information.  As it is, most oncologists see very few cases of AITL each year, so it is difficult for them to determine what treatments are working best.  I will post updates to this site as this idea takes shape and direction.  It make take the shape of providing patient info to physicians, or it might take the shape of physician-to-physician contacts.  Perhaps mentors?  Physicians who come across this: what are your thoughts or preferences?   Everyone, this is TBD, stay tuned...

At the highest level, AITL is a cancer.  The type of cancer is lymphoma.  The type of lymphoma is Non-Hogkin (NHL).  The type of NHL is T-Cell.  The type of T-Cell NHL cancer is "Peripheral T-Cell" (PTC).  And this specific type of PTC NHL is angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma (AITL).
